The Neo-Guard is constructed from Hydrocolloid dressing.

In Australia the Neo-Guard is changed whenever necessary, approximately every 3-5 days, as indicated in the above link, in the medical profession.  The Neo-Guard benefits the neonates when using nasal prongs by achieving a good seal, so lessening any trauma to the nasal septum.

Hydrocolloid will not cause skin irritation.  The Neo-Guard has been used in all major teaching hospitals in Australia for over ten years without any reported cases of skin irritation. 

In the case of masks being used we don't recommend the use of  Neo-Guard. Masks need to be quite airtight, so for this we have a product called Neo-Strip which may be a possible alternative.

Another type of treatment is High Flow. High Flow has regained popularity lately and we have a product called Neo-Velum which might be useful for this type of treatment.
